Screenshot updating - please check back soon
Expected outcome
- Preview shows the applicant-facing flow with GOV.UK-style design
- Questions appear one at a time with clear guidance text
- Answering questions routes you through the correct path
Launch the preview
-
Open the preview
From the flow editor, click the Preview button (usually in the top toolbar). This opens a new tab showing the flow as an applicant would see it.
-
Start the application journey
The preview shows the flow in the citizen-facing format. You'll see:
- Council branding — the NDX Demo Council name and logo
- Clear question format — one question at a time, following GOV.UK design patterns
- Help text — guidance for each question to help applicants answer correctly
- Progress indication — showing where you are in the application
-
Answer the questions
Work through a few questions to see how the flow guides applicants. Try different answers to see how the routing works — for example, selecting different property types may lead to different follow-up questions.
-
Notice the data collection
As you answer questions, PlanX collects structured planning data. Each answer maps to a planning data field (like
property.typeorproposal.description). This structured data is what makes digital planning submissions machine-readable. -
Compare editor and preview
Switch between the editor tab and the preview tab. Notice how the nodes in the editor correspond to the questions in the preview. Any changes you made in Step 3 will be reflected in the preview.
