Browse Planning Applications

Explore the dashboard to see how BOPS organises planning cases by status, type, and assignment.

My Applications shows cases assigned to you with days to determination
All Cases shows every application across the council

Expected outcome

  • My Applications tab shows cases assigned to you
  • All Cases tab shows all 35 applications
  • Applications have varied statuses and expiry dates

Explore the dashboard tabs

  1. My Applications

After logging in as the assessor, you'll land on "My Applications". This shows the 18 cases assigned to you — a mix of "Not started" and "In assessment" statuses.

Notice the days to determination date column — each application has a statutory deadline. Cases closer to their deadline appear with fewer days remaining.

  2. All Cases

Click the All cases tab to see all 35 applications across the council. This includes cases assigned to other officers and unassigned cases.

  3. Unassigned Cases

Click Unassigned cases to see applications that haven't been allocated to a case officer yet. In a real council, a team leader would assign these.

  4. Filters

Click Show all sections under Filters to see application type and status filters. Try filtering by:

    • Planning Permission — householder extensions, new builds
    • Prior Approval — change of use, larger home extensions
    • Lawfulness Certificate — certificates for proposed or existing development
  5. Search

Try searching for an address like Oakwood or a reference number like 26-00110. BOPS searches across addresses, descriptions, and references.

What you're seeing: This is the same interface used by councils like Lambeth, Southwark, and Buckinghamshire to manage real planning applications. The workflow stages (validation, consultation, assessment, review, determination) mirror the statutory planning process. Learn more about BOPS.
